Is é an sprioc ná go mbeidh páistí ina léitheoirí agus ina scríbhneoirí éifeachtacha, go mbeidh siad in ann oibriú laistigh de mheán-bhanda a ranga ag leibhéil litearthachta a oireann dá n-aois. Cruthaíonn an múinteoir CBL deiseanna don pháiste fadhbanna a réiteach agus tugann sé dóthain tacaíochta chun cuidiú leis an páiste iompraíochtaí straitéiseacha a fhorbairt le húsáid ar théacsanna i léitheoireacht agus i scríbhneoireacht araon.
Reading Recovery is a licensed, school-based, short-term, early literacy intervention.  It is designed for children aged around six, who are the lowest literacy achievers after their first year of school. Reading Recovery involves intensive one-to-one lessons for 30 minutes a day with a specially trained Reading Recovery teacher. We have Múinteoir Richard and Múinteoir Vanessa trained in Reading Recovery.

This series of lessons is individually designed for each child, based on moment by moment observations and skilled teacher decisions.

The goal is for children to become effective readers and writers, able to work with
in the average band of their class at age-appropriate levels of literacy.

The RR teacher creates opportunities for the child to problem solve and provides just enough support to help the child develop strategic behaviors to use on texts in both reading and writing.

The programme involves intensive one-to-one lessons of 30 minutes’ duration per day (with changeover time equal to 2.5 hours per day) with a specially trained Reading Recovery teacher for between 12 and 20 weeks.
