Lá Mór na Gaeilge - 15/02/14

A thuismitheoir / caomhnóir, a chara,
Táimid ag scríobh chugat le tacaíocht do theaghlaigh a lorg do LÁ MÓR NA GAEILGE a bheidh ar siúl  i mBaile Átha Cliath ar 15 Feabhra 2014  ag tosú ag 14.00 ó Chearnóg Parnell. Is éard a bheidh i gceist leis an lá ná  mór-léiriú tacaíochta don Ghaeilge le cur ina luí ar an Rialtas, thuaidh agus  theas, gur gá cothrom na Féinne a thabhairt don teanga agus dá lucht labhartha.  Beidh craic agus spraoi ag baint leis an lá freisin, le ceol ó bhannaí ceoil ar  nós Seo Linn, péinteáil aghaidheanna, amhránaíocht,  srl.

Tá sé mar sprioc ag an lá brú a chur ar na Rialtais an tábhacht  agus an luach a bhaineann leis an nGaeilge don tír a aithint, móide aitheantas a  thabhairt don fhíric go bhfuil tacaíocht ag móramh mór den phobal don teanga. Tá  sé de dhualgas orthu ar bhonn ionadaíochta agus morálta, mar sin, a chinntiú go  mbeidh cothrom na Féinne agus deis labhartha ag gach saoránach gur mian leis /  léi í a úsáid leis an státchóras. Go deimhin, má aithnítear an Ghaeilge mar scil  bhreise gur fiú a bheith ag cuid de na daoine a fhostaítear sa státchóras amach  anseo, beidh spreagadh breise ann do dhaoine óga agus iad ag foghlaim na Gaeilge  ar scoil, ag úsáid na Gaeilge sa bhaile nó le cairde,  srl.

Bheimis an-bhuíoch díot dá bhfeadfadh do theaghlach tacú le LÁ  MÓR NA GAEILGE trí fhreastal ar an lá agus trí labhairt le tuismitheoirí eile
faoin lá freisin más féidir. Tá an iliomad beartas gur fiú tabhairt fúthu leis  an teanga a láidriú sa tír. Creidimid go gcabhróidh LÁ  MÓR NA GAEILGE linn dul i bhfeidhm ar na Rialtais agus tús a chur leis na  beartais sin a bhaint amach.

Bígí linn ar an lá. Táimid ag súil le slua mór agus chuirfeadh do chúnamh go mór le  rath na hócáide. Is féidir aon eolas breise a lorg ag lagaeilge@cnag.ie nó glaoigh ar Julian ar +353 1 4757401 / +353 86

Ní neart go cur le chéile,

We are writing to you seeking your family’s support for LÁ MÓR NA GAEILGE that will take place  in Dublin on the 15th of February 2014  starting at 14.00 at Parnell Square. This day will show the Governments,  north and south, that the Irish anguage has huge support and impress on them  that they must ensure fairness for the language and its speakers. This event  will be fun too, with bands such as Seo Linn, face-painting for kids, singing,  etc.

The aim of the day is to put pressure the governments to  acknowledge the importance and value of the language and in addition, to  recognise that the majority of the community support the anguage. Therefore,  the governments have a moral and representative obligation to ensure that every  citizen has an opportunity to use their language with the state, if they so  wish. Indeed, if Irish is recognised as a desirable skill for some of those  employed by the state in the future, there will be an extra encouragement for  young people while learning Irish at school, or using their Irish at home or  amongst friends, etc.

We would greatly appreciate if your family could support the day  by attending the LÁ MÓR NA GAEILGE and by spreading the word to other parents  about the day, if possible. There are many policies that are worth undertaking  to strengthen the language’s position in the country. We believe that the LÁ MÓR NA GAEILGE will help influence  the governments to begin to take action on these policies.

Do join us on the day. We’re expecting a big crowd and your presence will help make this event a success. Further information about the day is vailable from Julian at lagaeilge@cnag.ie or +353 1 4757401 / +353 86 8142757.

Tá rang a sé tosaithe anois ar an clár Junior Entrepreneur. An mhí seo bhí siad ag foghlaim faoi céard é go díreach Entrepreneur agus na scileanna a bheadh uait le bheith rathúil i gnó. Tá muid anois ag cur ár smaointe nua gnó os comhair na ndragain agus beidh muid déanamh cinneadh faoi an tionscnamh go luath. Beidh Niall Cooke, Bainisteoir Réigiúnach Glanmore linn an tseachtain seo mar pháirt de Dragons Den agus tá muid fíor bhuíoch do as ucht a thacaíocht.  An tseachtain seo chugainn, tá áthas mhór orainn a bheith ag fáil cuairt ó stiúrthóir bainistíochta Glanmore Foods, John Mooney. Beidh John ag roinnt eolas le na páistí faoi a shaol i ngnó agus an taithí go léir atá aige. Beidh seans ag na páistí a lán ceisteanna chuir ar agus foghlaim faoi gnó fíor sa cheantar áitiúil. Tá muid ag tnúth go mór le sin.

Sixth class have started the Junior Entrepreneur programme. This month they have been learning about what an Entrepreneur is and what skills are essential to be successful in business. Currently we are putting together our new business ideas and will present them in a Dragon’s Den style show here in the school. Niall Cooke, the area manager for Glanmore foods has kindly agreed to join us for the dragons den show. Our thanks to Niall for his continued support. This will help us decide which product/service to proceed with. Next week we are delighted to welcome, John Mooney, Managing Director of Glanmore Foods, to the school. John will be sharing his business experience with the children and they will have an opportunity to question a real entrepreneur from the locality. We are looking forward to that.

Tá Rang a sé ag glacadh páirt i dTionscnamh na gCrócais. Chur muid bleibíní chróca buí i Mí Dheireadh Fómhar, i gcuimhneamh ar na milliún go leith páistí Giúdach agus na mílte páiste eile a fuair bás san Uileoscadh. Tá muid anois ag fanacht le na cróca bláthú agus muid ag smaoineamh ar lá idirnáisiúnta Uileoscadh ar an 27ú Eanáir.

Sixth class is taking part in the Crocus Project. We planted yellow Crocus bulbs in October in memory of the one and a half million Jewish children and thousands of other children who died in the Holocaust. We are now waiting for them to bloom are we think of those that lost their lives on international Holocaust day on the 27th January.
