Ar an Aoine tá Comhairle na nDaltaí i nGaelscoil Uí Earcáin ag eagrú lá eolas ar son Irish Autism Action. Tá muid airgead a bhaileoidh freisin chun tacú leo. Beidh cead ag na paistí teacht ar scoil gan éadaí scoile agus freisin beidh comórtas ann ó thaobh na boinéid Cásca. An féidir le gach pháiste €2 a thabhairt isteach agus rachaidh an t-airgead seo go dtí Irish Autism Action.

This Friday, Gaelscoil Uí Earcáin students council is organising a special day to raise awareness for Irish Autism Action. We are collecting money to help them raise awareness and fund valuable projects. Each child is allowed to come into school wearing their normal clothes and doesn’t have to wear their school uniform. There is also a completion been held for the best Easter Bonnet. If each child can bring in €2 it would be great and all the money will go directly to Irish Autism Action.

Chur Maria, Mamaí Saoirse (Rang 6), pota milseáin le chéile. Is féidir leis na páistí 50 cent a íoc chun an méid milseáin atá sa phota a thomhas. Rachaidh an tairgead seo i dtre costais turas Rang 5/6 go Coláiste Acla i Maigh Eo i Bealtaine 2014. Tá €40 bailithe go dtí seo. Míle buíochas Maira as ucht é a chur le chéile gach bliain. 

Maria, Saoirse’s(R.6) mammy, has put a sweet jar together. The children can pay 50 cent to guess how many sweets are in the jar. The winner gets to keep the jar. The proceeds will go towards paying for the bus for Rang 5/6 school trip to Coláiste Acla in Mayo in May 2014. €40 has been collected so far. Many thanks to Maria for putting the jar together every year.

Má tá sé i gceist agat go dtosódh deartháir nó deirfiúr le páiste atá ag freastal ar Ghaelscoil Uí Earcáin cheana i Meán Fómhair 2014, iarrtar ort a chinntiú leis an oifig go bhfuil an t-ainm thíos le tosnú. Mura bhfuil, cailfidh an páiste an áit nuair a dháilfear áiteanna i Mí Eanáir 2014. Tá liosta fada feithimh ann ! 

If you wish for a brother or sister of a child already attending Gaelscoil Uí Earcáin, to begin school with us in September 2014, please ensure that his/her name is on the waiting list for then. If your child’s name is not down in time, the place will be given to the next person on the waiting list in January 2014.

To celebrate our first Christmas in the De La Salle building Gaelscoil Uí Earcáin received a crib as a Christmas present. We are grateful to the school community for sponsoring this special gift. A special note of thanks to the following groups for helping to make this possible:

Tharla an toghchán do Chomhairle na nDaltaí ar an 04/12/13. Ghlac daltaí Rang 3, 4, 5 & 6 páirt sa phróiséas. Bhí an-chuid iarrathóirí againn agus rinne siad óráid os comhair an rang.


The elections for our Student Council took place on the 04/12/13. Pupils from 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th classes took part in the process. We had lots of candidates and each one gave a speech in class a week before the election.

If any parents are interested in starting a Parents’ Association, could you please speak to the office before Christmas. The Parents’ Association has an important role in the education of our children. Many hands make light work!
